Every month, we interrupt our work for a few hours to perform an activity
with the whole group. Salsalário can be a visit to a museum, retiring home or
theatre, a sequence of lectures, an outdoor activity, or any other relaxing
fun activity. Feel free to copy our idea! |

August-Salsalário was a quite different Friday morning. Instead of the city's chaotic traffic and horns, the Salsanova team enjoyed the colors and lightness of the Ibirapuera Park, in Sao Paulo. A refuge for those who wish to refresh their ideas, interact with nature and feel the freedom of pedaling a bike. Nothing compares to waking up early in the morning, putting more comfortable clothes on and head to the Ibirapuera bikeway. Taking some free moments from your day to relax may seem to be impossible, but some minutes to free your mind and refresh your ideas makes anybody's day calmer and happier.
Salsalário-July held a very important conversation on first-aids.
Nurse Wagner Borger, who works with rescuing, gave simple, but very important tips that make all the difference and might save lives. Before anything, the key-word is calm, if you think you don’t have it, call the rescuing services: Firefighters or SAMU.
Don’t invent or do things just by “guessing”, most of times this kind of attitude can worsen the situation.
Salsalário-June was at the painter Escher’s exhibition, currently at CCBB de São Paulo. It is mind twisting.
The ex-mathematician made history as a painter. It is worthy, brings references and the potentiated thoughts become art.
Salsanova’s gang recommends.
In May, every Salsarette joined a breakfast at the Mercado Municipal de São Paulo [São Paulo’s Municipal Market], with a big bologna sandwich.
The tour was pleasant, the mood was incredible and no one felt hungry during the whole day.
In April, Salsalário connected knowledge and awareness about a very important topic, something essential for the existence of life and that needs care: water. The team visited during a Wednesday morning the exhibit Água [Water], at the Oca do Ibirapuera. Very appreciated, the exhibition gathers science, art and technology, with interactive installations, works of art, museum private collection pieces, virtual and real aquariums, photographs and audiovisual resources. The work is presented by Instituto Sangari.
In March, the Salsarettes interrupted their work for 20 minutes to be part of an activity that stirred the whole team. Each one should answer, in few words and objectively, “What is Salsanova?”, considering a few aspects of the company. The author of the best definition, who received a money prize, was our receptionist Andréia Macedo and her winner answer can be seen here, in our website.
The importance of a smile as a motivating factor in the workplace was the topic of Salsalário-February. The team attended a lecture, in the agency, given by HR consultant, Celso Salício, from ASW. The topic was addressed in a relaxed and interactive way. Several real examples provided moments of reflection and awareness about the topic.
In January, the Salsalário was a good surprise for everyone. The Salsarettes ended their shift, on a Tuesday afternoon, and were free to do any activity.
December is a month marked by gatherings and the passing of one more year celebrations.
That’s why the last Salsalário of the year is always special for the Salsanova team, which at this time of the year, always gets together at a nice place and exchange gifts.
This year, the gathering happened at the traditional Cantina Famiglia Mancini.
In November, Salsalário provided relaxing moments and a break from the daily busyness.
In a space created inside the company, each Salsarette had a half-an-hour massage made by a professional, what relaxed everyone’s body and mind and recharged their energies.
On Salsalário-October, the Salsarettes disconnected from their routines for a few hours to dedicate themselves to inner knowledge and mental health. The team attended a lecture at the agency focused on “organizing the inner house” in order have a life with a lot more pleasure and freedom. The guest speakers Inaiá Bitencourt and Adriano Calhau addressed relationship matters with ourselves, parents, partners, work, among others. It was a moment of reflection.
Salsalário-September surprised the Salsarettes. This time, there was no Schedule. In the afternoon of September,10th, the team interrupted their activities for half an hour to play a gymkhana. Each one was given R$ 6.00 (six real) to buy an item, any object related to the Salsa concept, in other words, original and simple. Who purchased the most interesting object and met the requirement, won a pair of tickets for SWU Music and Arts Festival, that takes place in October at the Maeda farm, in Itu.
August is a special month for Salsanova. It is when we celebrate the company’s birthday, it is already a tradition, and the date is never forgotten. The celebration of six years of Salsa in 2010 brought together a lot of fun, chat, in a pleasant environment and a lunch with Beco do Bartô’s special menu, a place simply decorated, that looks like part of a little village, in Paraíso district, São Paulo. It really seems we are in a countryside ally (beco) there, charming and arcadian, the whole team recommends it.
The World Cup excitement was extended to July, but this time emotions were running higher and so did the disappointment. The match was Brazil vs. Holland, July 2nd, quarter finals, worth the semi finals. All Salsarettes got together to watch the game. Pity the party only lasted 45 minutes. When Brazil got back for the second half, the team’s excitement gave way to the sad moods, caused by the score that stamped the Brazilian team’s passport back home. A consolation for the optimists: in four years, we will have another chance; there comes 2014.
In June, the World Cup mood spread through the whole Salsa-team and, of course, Salsalário could not be different. On June 25th, Brazil played for the third time in South Africa, this time against Portugal. On this day, the shift was from 8:30 to 10:30. That’s right: two hours of work, and then it was time to support the Brazilian team. The match was okay, the score was tied, but at least the Salsarettes had a free Friday afternoon to make it up for the 0 X 0 score.
Health Marketing’s future was the debate topic promoted by Hospital e Maternidade Brasil, which was attended by the Salsarettes in May. The event was a debate, with professionals from renowned companies, such as Escola Paulista de Medicina, Hospital Sírio-Libanês, GP&S, Universidade Metodista and DM9/DDB.
It is a World Cup Year, of course a program like this could not be left out of the Salsalário’s plans. In April, our team visited the Museu do Futebol [Soccer Museum], at Estádio do Pacaembu [Pacaembu Stadium]. The chosen date, was also a special occasion: it was the Stadium’s 70th birthday. A lot of history, a lot of information, a lot of interesting things to read, see, hear and feel...
In March, the Salsa-girls were happy with the Salsalário’s exclusivity. During an entire morning, the women of the agency were concerned about only one thing: taking care of their nails and hair at a famous beauty salon.
A pre-Carnaval happy hour at Botequim Carioca.
Colorado Beer, cassava little cakes, samba playing on the record player and soccer playing on TV.
It seems this is going to be a great year.
At the beginning of the year, behavioral analysis were performed on every Salsarette.
With the results in hand, we all got together in Moema with Fabio from Thomas International for a feedback session.
It was very nice to get to know a little bit more about everyone.
The actor Dedé Santana was a surprise at our end of year dinner.
Simple, intelligent, and very nice; he was fun telling stories from when he worked on the popular TV show "Os Trapalhões".
He still works as writer.
Well, it was an honor and a great night amongst Salsarettes.
Life imitates art. In November, we had one of the best Salsalários, which was focused on testimonials.
Everyone told something important that has happened in their lives and everybody else listened.
It was led with a lot of energy by Mauro Loureiro, professional salesman, sailor and someone very tuned with live.
A visit to Holambra, a city in the countryside of São Paulo State, near Jaguariúna. The city’s name is a mix of Holland, America and Brazil.
Dutch immigrants brought the planting flowers culture to us.
It was an amazing day, we had breakfast by a lake and exchanged a lot of ideas.
The Salsarette team celebrated Melissa’s birth, Renato and Fernanda (our director)’s daughter.
Since we were at our client, Hospital e Maternidade Brasil, we used the opportunity to see its facilities, such as the Maternity and the Block A.
Melissa has already worked with us for almost nine months.
The rule was simple: the Salsarettes had to present images related to the Salsanova concept.
The couple Ivan and Stefanie did really well and won subscriptions to magazines Trip and TPM.
After all that, everyone celebrated the agency’s birthday at PizzaBros, close to our Moema branch.
On Salsalário-July, the team pressed their activities ‘pause button’ to focus on two very important things: the body and the mind. Massagist Talita Nakano visited the Salsarettes on a Friday morning and pleased everyone with shiatsu and relaxing music. In the end, tea was served to the Salsanova team in order to enjoy a reflection moment and relax. The Zen moment was beneficial to work, awakening everyone’s creativity.
In June, Salsalário had a taste of culture. The Salsarettes spent an afternoon at MASP – Museu de Arte de São Paulo [São Paulo Art Museum] to prestige the retrospective exhibition of the plastic artist Vik Muniz’s 20 year-career.
The relation between photography and design is the exhibit main motto. There are 131 works from the artist, in total, with pieces from 1988 until today. Salsanovas’ team had the opportunity to have a close look at the work of fascinating artist, who perfectly relates photography with design.
Vik’s work emphasizes the dialogue between materials (the simple objects he uses to compose his work) and images. Everyone on the team recommends visiting the exhibition, but it is good to have plenty of time because Vik’s work is to be observed in detail.
In May, Salsanova’s team attended the debate promoted by Hospital e Maternidade Brasil [Brasil Maternity and General Hospital] about health marketing. The event, called “A Saúde do Marketing de Saúde” [Health Marketing’s Health] was attended by leading positions collaborators of the Hospital and also by other guests. The debate was composed by professionals that work in the area, and each commented about his/her experiences, debated cases and expressed different points of view.
After the event, in the evening, the Salsarettes went to Botequim Carioca, a themed bar in Santo André, to close the week with a relaxing happy hour.
On Salsalário-April, the Salsarettes were divided in two groups to be part in theoretical and practical activities: the management and production teams had tips on negotiation techniques, with orientation on how to approach clients and providers and the determinant aspects of a negotiation. Concluding, the participants did an exercise with a partner and talked about the topic.
The creation team met at the Moema branch. Semantic panel was their activities topic.
First, there was a brief explanation and then a debate about how this resource can be used in the creation department. Finally, a practical, very relaxing activity was carried out.
A mix of chatting and training. Salsanova’s team got together, during good part of the day, with professionals from companies related to the agency. Each professional commented on his/her experiences and gave relevant information on communication actions planning in their own areas. Juliana Salvatico (Marketing - SulAmérica), Taat Papandréa (Visual Merchandising - A Esportiva), Clóvis Sidney Thon Filho (Commercial Representative - Reebok) and Adriano Calhau (Instituto Triângulo) were present.
On Salsalário-February, the Salsanova team visited Instituição Assistencial Nosso Lar [Nosso Lar Social Institution], entity that gives a home to approximately 100 elderly people in Santo André.
The Salsarettes visited the facilities, the clothes, furniture and home appliances bazaar, and had contact with the assisted people living there. For those who have the opportunity to learn more about this important work, the entity keeps its doors open at: Rua das Hortências, 944 - Vila Helena - Santo André - Tel.: 4453-7766
Salsanova’s team had the first Salsalário 2009 at one of the most beautiful places in São Paulo: Parque do Ibirapuera [Ibirapuera Park]. This time, Santo André’s and Moema’s teams got together, to break the working routine a little, on a Wednesday morning (07/Jan/2009), to enjoy relaxing moments in contact with nature. The Salsarettes took part on recreational activities aiming at promoting team work integration and the activation of perception and insight in everyone through different exercises. The activities leader was Sidnei Matrone Junior, graduated actor, businessman and interpersonal relationships consultant.
In Salsalário-December was marked by the team’s gathering. The place chosen to exchange gifts has tradition, fine cuisine and a beautiful sight of São Paulo: Terraço Itália [Italian Terrace].
The Piano Bar area was reserved for the team members’ lively chats. The night was fun, especially during the Troféu Laboral awarding ceremony, to the employees that best dedicated themselves to the working-gym during the year, then, there was the gifts exchange, and finally, the delivery of Salsakits.
Salsalário-November had lots of drama and action...on the big screen. The Salsarettes finished their shift a little earlier to spend a relaxing afternoon at the movie theatre. After a lot of suggestions and inputs, the film picked by the Santo André team was “O Traidor” [“Traitor”]. The Moema team chose to watch “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”. For those who like drama or action, both movies are recommended by the Salsanova team.
Children’s Day month matches fun. And this is how Salsalário-October happened at the Salsanova Moema branch. The Salsarettes had a whole morning reserved for games, like Wii, Uno and cards. Sweets, snacks and soft drinks completed the relaxing atmosphere.
In September, the Salsarettes celebrated 4 years of Salsanova. A special happy hour was held at Botequim Carioca. The architecture and decoration of the place is a new version of the old traditional carioca bars.
Salsanova team was in the audience of Programa do Jô, on Rede Globo, where they enjoyed a very fun afternoon. Singer Claudia Leite and comedian Fabiana Carla were two of the guests at the show.
In July, Salsalário was a surprise birthday party. The team got together after work at a traditional pizzeria in Santo André, Vero Verde, on Pizza Day – July 10th – to sing happy birthday to director Regis Amedi, who did not know the celebration was going to be held. Once more the Salsarettes enjoyed relaxing moments together.
Salsalário-June was a relaxing chat with JWT Brasil editor - Rodrigo Visconti. This interchange with professionals from other agencies is very important to exchange experiences, clarify doubts and learn about other working methods.
In Mother’s Day month, Salsalário was especially and totally dedicated to them. The mothers of all employees were invited to visit the agency. In addition to a delicious breakfast and a relaxed chat, they had the opportunity to check all work developed at the agency. A photo shoot completed the day, and they took home a beautiful memory of this day.
In April, Salsalário was a very cool one. The Salsarettes visited Editora Glamurama [Glamurama Publisher], of journalist Joyce Pascowitch. The publisher has Joyce Pascowitch, JP Poder, JP Modo de Vida and JP Viagem magazines, as well as Glamurama and Glamurama Pop websites.
The Salsanova team visited the publisher facilities: the Espaço de Eventos [Events Area] and the magazines and the websites writing departments. The publisher presentation was well done by Account Executive - Carolina Guimarães, Assistant Director - Juliana Ferraz, and Publicity Director - José Carlos Montichel.
This universe – the editorial – is very close to our daily routine, and references are always welcome.
As a bonus, the whole team was given a “John John” bag filled with a magazine-kit of the publishers’.
In the month we celebrate International Women’s Day, Salsalário was performed especially for the girls of the agency.
During the morning of March 5th, a professional manicure was available at the agency.
In February, Salsalário happened inside the Agency. After the Carnaval holidays, the team enjoyed the presence of Oleg Loretto, a Neogama BBH’s professional contact, and got together for a few hours sorting out doubts about the work processes inside an advertising agency. “Everything you wanted to ask an advertising contact, but was too shy to do it” was the chat theme.
The year started with a lot of popcorn and soda for the Salsanova team, that enjoyed the first Salsalário 2008 at the movie theaters.
"Meu nome não é Johnny" ["My name ain’t Johnny"] was the movie watched by the team in a relaxing January afternoon. Everyone liked the film a lot, which is based on a true story: João Guilherme Estrella was a typical middle-class youngster. Smart and nice, he lived his youth intensely. He was adored by his parents, popular among his friends and had an adventurous bohemian spirit. In the early 90’s, he became the king of drug dealing in South Rio de Janeiro. Investigated by the police, he was arrested and his story got on newspapers front pages.
The cast is composed by Selton Mello, playing the main character, Cleo Pires, Júlia Lemmertz, Cássia Kiss, Eva Todor, André di Biassi, Ângelo Paes Leme, Rafaela Mandelli, and others. Mauro Lima is the director and Mariza Leão wrote the screenplay. This film is based on the novel by Guilherme Fiúza.
